The evening in Amsterdam touched on a variety of other topics of interest to entrepreneurs, and during this startup-focused session, Luis Enrique Galdamez Echeverria and Julia Mitereva reminded the audience of some interesting entrepreneurial stats in the Netherlands, and why Founders Mesh focuses strongly on networking, sharing opportunities, attracting VCs, and encouraging diversity in a country where: 90% of startup founders are men, and there remains so much to conquer for women and non-binary founders!

Last week, we witnessed another packed Founders Mesh event, by #Amsterdam #startup Fashion Potluck. Four startups were scheduled to pitch, but given the informal setting of this event, many more founders took the stage spontaneously - and it was great to see!

What if we flip the ratio? Unlike most events, 80% of the time here was about informal conversations, leaving only 20% for startup pitches.
The organizers (Luis & Julia) came up with a clever icebreaker: a bingo card profiling founders, investors, and ecosystem players. Suddenly, you could approach someone asking if they are the ones with a lot of tea stories or instead, invested over €875 million of capital into founders with their fund.
